Creation Windows: Gifts of Life and Sabbath Rest

On the sixth day, God created humankind, in his own image, placing the first man and woman in the beautiful Garden, filled with an abundance of flowers and plants, birds and animals. From above, the hand of the Creator God extends in a gesture of peace, with human hands uplifted to receive the blessing of life.

Adorning the entrance to the narthex, this window depicts the seventh day, a day of rest and of celebration at God's Creation. Its message of welcome is appropriate as described in Hebrews 4: So then, a sabbath rest still remains for the people of God; for those who enter God's rest also cease from their labors as God did from his.
